Breakfast

As part of breakfast, enjoy famous specialties:lightly-dried sweetfish.
Breakfast consists of a Japanese set meal made with an abundance of local mountain vegetables. The miso soup, made with local hen-of-the-woods mushrooms, is an exquisite dish that is available for your enjoyment from 7am for about an hour. We recommend trying it after your morning bath, available as self-service by the fireplace next to the front lobby.

Enjoy seasonal flavors from Joshu across four different tea houses
Ryokan Tanigawa offers four tea houses for enjoying your meals. Each tea house has different characteristics to suit our customers' individual styles.。

Genji Tea House
Genji Tea House offers various Japanese-style tatami rooms that are completely private. The rooms offer comfortable tables and chairs, based on feedback from customers who find it troublesome to stand up and sit down on tatami floors. Although, of course, you can still use it as a traditional tatami room and sit on the floor if you prefer. 6 rooms available in total, each with capacity for 1 to 9 people.

Temari Tea House
Temari Tea House is characterized by its walls made of rock salt and charcoal. It offers 7 rooms with tables and chairs, with capacity for 1 to 2 people. The rooms feature wooden floors, which may make guests feel slightly cool. We are able to offer blankets for customers to put on their laps, so please feel free to ask a member of staff. 7 tables available in total, each with capacity for 1 to 2 people only.

Shokuji Dokorokura
Shokuji Dokorokura is located on the second floor. This tea house is made of wood all around, featuring a subtle aroma of wood hanging in the air. 5 tables available in total, each with capacity for 1 to 4 people.

Dining Okuyama
Dining Okuyama is a banquet hall that has been divided with partitions. 10 tables available in total, each with capacity for 2 to 4 people.
